Contests to Take Place in Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit and Memphis Beginning in August with Television Premiere Set for October 5

ATLANTA/NASHVILLE, JULY 7, 2005 — Gospel Music Channel today announced audition and programming details for “Gospel Dream 2005,” the newest addition to its line-up of inspirational and entertaining programming. The announcement was made today by Charles Humbard, president and CEO and Brad Siegel, vice chairman of Gospel Music Channel, the nation’s only 24/7 cable television network dedicated to all styles of gospel music.

“Gospel Dream 2005” will reach out to a broad audience of gospel music fans, bringing performers from all over the U.S. and from all gospel styles – including traditional and contemporary soul, pop, rock, and R&B – to compete for a chance to be signed by a major label. Created and executive produced by Elvin Ross, CEO of SONHO Entertainment, “Gospel Dream” will showcase the best in emerging gospel music talent with auditions in seven cities, culminating in a semi-final round and season finale that will both be held in Atlanta, GA. Beginning in August, auditions will take place in the following markets: Atlanta (August 12-13), Dallas/Fort Worth (August 19-20), New Orleans (August 26-27), St. Louis (September 9-10), Chicago (September 16-17), Detroit (September 23-24) and Memphis (September 30-October 1). These auditions will air exclusively on Gospel Music Channel beginning October 5 at 8 p.m. Eastern, with weekly episodes leading up to the November 30 semi-finals and December 1 finale. On November 23, Gospel Music Channel will televise a marathon, recapping the entire season thus far.

Top Christian Artists Lead Narnia Soundtrack Due Sept. 27

EMI CMG, in partnership with Walt Disney Studios and Walden Media, will release MUSIC INSPIRED BY: THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE to stores nationwide September 27, 2005, featuring new songs from today's top Christian artists.

The inspirational project is the first of two major soundtracks sparked by the most anticipated film of 2005, a live action adaptation of the best-selling C. S. Lewis classic, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Five-time Grammy Award winner Steven Curtis Chapman performs the first NARNIA single and video, "Remembering You," which goes to Christian radio stations August 5. The Mighty Clouds of Joy Founder Performs with Aretha Franklin

Joe Ligon -founding member and lead singer of the three-time Grammy Award-winning Gospel Music Hall of Fame legends The Mighty Clouds of Joy -shared the stage with the "Queen of Soul" herself, Aretha Franklin, during her three New York City shows at Madison Square Garden this month. Ligon's performance included songs that Franklin originally recorded with the late Rev. James Cleveland, the founder of Gospel Music Workshop of America -the largest gospel music organization in the world. Franklin and Ligon have recently been discussing the possibility of participating on each other's upcoming albums.

"There ain't but one Joe Ligon," comments legendary songstress Aretha Franklin.

The Mighty Clouds of Joy's In the House of the Lord: Live in Houston, which celebrates 45 years of music making, is available on EMI Gospel and is distributed by EMI CMG Distribution.

Pee Wee Callins Bumps into George Huff

Newcomer Pee Wee Callins recently bumped into Word Records recording artist George Huff while visiting in Nashville, Tenn. The R&B crooner spent some time hanging out with Huff, who placed fifth in the semi-finals on season three of Fox Television's hit reality show "American Idol."

Pee Wee's debut solo album -Street Soul, which released on April 19, combines silky-smooth vocals with the R&B/Hip-Hop grooves of veteran-producer Todd Collins (The Katinas and Out of Eden) and is a "melting pot" of old school R&B and up-to-the-minute sounds. Joining Pee Wee on the project are celebrated emcees including Rob Hodge, Big Sonny, and Bobby Bishop.

BMI Christian Awards Reveal 'Glory Defined' as Song of the Year; Mark Hall Crowned Top Songwriter

BMI saluted the writers and publishers of the past year's most performed Christian songs during the BMI Christian Music Awards held June 20, with highest honors reserved for Building 429's "Glory Defined" as Song of the Year and Mark Hall as Songwriter of the Year.

Senior Vice President Phil Graham, Vice President Paul Corbin and Director Joyce Rice of BMI's Writer/Publisher Relations department presented BMI Citations of Achievement to 22 songs in five categories: AC (Adult Contemporary), CHR (Christian Hit Radio), Contemporary/Traditional Gospel, Rock and Southern Gospel. Pee Wee Callins Meets with Out of Eden

Newcomer Pee Wee Callins recently ran into Out of Eden while visiting in Nashville, Tenn. The R&B crooner has been greatly influenced by the trio. "Most of my career, I sang traditional black gospel," Callins explains. "But it wasn't until I listened to Out of Eden's last album that I felt the urge to broaden my singing experiences." Pee Wee's debut solo album - Street Soul, which released on April 19, showcases his many influences by blending smart infusions of hip-hop, pop, soul, rock, gospel, as well as taking the listener on sunny excursions to the land of '70s radio.

"Pee Wee Callins has one hot CD on his hands," said Out of Eden's Lisa Kimmey. "I believe that he will be a huge influence on other artists and make a big impact in this industry."

John David Webster's "Miracle" Amazes Stations

Nashville, TN - "Miracle," the first single from BHT Records piano-based pop-rock recording artist John David Webster's debut album, Made to Shine, has leapt into the "Top 10" on R&R's AC Indicator chart and is holding firm to that status for the second week on R&R's AC Monitor chart. It's been an amazing couple of weeks for Webster, whose single jumped from #15 to #10 last Tuesday on the R&R AC Monitor chart. The single has been one of the "Most Increased" songs at both R&R's AC Monitor and Indicator charts for the last two weeks.
