David Crowder Band Featured On CNN

Following its recent exposure in a New York Times cover story about the Passion Experience Tour, David Crowder Band was also featured this week on television's CNN Sunday Morning.

Lead singer David Crowder was interviewed live via satellite in Nashville as the annual Gospel Music Week kicked off, bringing artists and media from around the world to Music City. CNN's coverage, conducted by esteemed anchor Catherine Callaway in Atlanta, focused on Christian music's increasing sales in an otherwise sluggish marketplace. David Crowder Band offers a good example of the genre's ongoing upturn; its award-winning new album, ILLUMINATE, has significantly outpaced the sales of its well-acclaimed debut, CAN YOU HEAR US.

Intrigued by the popularity of David Crowder Band and creative pop/rock worship music in general, Callaway asked, "Do you consider yourself a rock star?"

Crowder replied, "I've got a really good pal that says 'you guys (David Crowder Band) are more like a moon than a star.' Because the moon, if it wasn't for the sunshine, is just a ball of dirt. For us, the light of Christ, when it shines on us, it's just a beautiful collision. We are more interested in attracting attention to God than ourselves."
