Michael Tait To Sing With Santana On UK Tour And New LP

image

ForeFront Records artist Michael Tait (dc talk, TAIT, !HERO), one of the most respected and recognizable voices in Christian music, has been invited to tour internationally with rock guitar legend Carlos Santana.

"It is a great honor for me," says Tait. "To even be asked to join with one of the greatest artists in the history of rock and roll is humbling to say the least. I did not pursue this and was blown away when he called. While this is a great opportunity, let there be no question – I remain 100% committed to my own band, TAIT. One of the most attractive components of this is that I will be able to continue to record and perform with my band. Carlos has been so gracious; he has even asked me to perform two TAIT songs in the live show."

Tait will make his debut with Santana on July 2 in France, followed by shows in Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. He will also contribute vocals to the next Santana studio album, scheduled to release in late 2004. A tour of the U.S. is also reportedly in the works for spring 2005.

Co-founder of the four-time Grammy award-winning group dc talk, Michael Tait's career sales have reached seven million units, including landmark albums FREE AT LAST and JESUS FREAK. In 2001, he formed a second band, TAIT, and charted the hit singles "All You Got," "Loss For Words," and "Alibis." TAIT's second album, LOSE THIS LIFE, released in November 2003, has just received the 2004 Rock Album of the Year Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association. Also in 2003, Michael Tait won the lead role in !HERO, a nationally touring rock opera and double album soundtrack release that recasts the story of Jesus in modern day America.

Carlos Santana is at the pinnacle of a remarkable recording and performing career that has spanned five decades, sold more than fifty million albums, played live to upwards of thirty million fans and garnered countless awards and honors, including a 1998 induction into the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame. His Supernatural album, featuring the international hit "Smooth," won nine Grammy awards in 2000, including Album of the Year, and has sold more than ten million copies to date.
